Under 17's Training Sessions & Prices

Our under 17’s driver training takes place on approximately 3 miles of private road system which enables young drivers to master basic driving techniques and manoeuvres without the added pressure of oncoming traffic. Our training sessions are conducted by fully qualified driving instructors and all training vehicles are equipped with dual controls.

(Please note: Under 17's do not require a provisional licence to participate in our driver training)

All pupils will be given access to useful online training aids and FREE online theory software, ‘Theory Test PRO’. Once you have booked your under 17s driver training session, please contact me if you would like me to register you or your child. When you have been registered, you will receive an email with details on how to access the software. Email me on jon@winchesterdriving.co.uk and I will reply sending you a link so you can start using this software.

Each under 17 driver training session lasts for 2 hours and costs £80 based on one-to-one training with a fully qualified driving instructor. Alternatively, 2 people can share a 2 hour session at a cost of £40 each in which case they will take it in turns to drive the vehicle or sit in the back.

The training site is at Barton Stacey (about 10 minutes from Winchester).

We have recently undertaken some line painting and landscaping work at the training site and we now have white lines in the middle of most of the roads and have added 2 mini roundabouts and ‘stop’ and ‘give way’ junctions. The roads have been landscaped so that the kerbs are now visible and can be used for moving off and stopping. We have also added a second area for bay parking and a new area for parallel parking. We are planning to make further changes to the facility which will include a full size 4 exit roundabout, additional junctions, a one way system, an area specifically for reversing and extra areas for carrying out manoeuvres. To view some photos and videos of the changes that have been made please click below.

From Winnall: roundabout Winchester (Junction 9 of M3): Follow A34 towards Andover, join A303 to Andover, take exit signposted to Barton Stacey, turn right at the end of the road, go over the bridge which crosses over the A303, go past the turning signposted A303 to Basingstoke then turn into the next gateway on the left.

From Basingstoke: Join A303 towards Andover then take the exit signposted to Barton Stacey, turn right at the end of the road, go over the bridge which crosses over the A303, go past the turning signposted A303 to Basingstoke then turn into the next gateway on the left.

From Andover: Join A303 towards Basingstoke, take exit signposted to Barton Stacey, turn left at the end of the road then turn into the next gateway on the left.
